Illinois Gun Ban Bill in House

After passing in the Illinois Senate by a vote of 31-26, anti-gun legislation (SB 1007) that would ban the manufacture, possession, delivery, sale and purchase of standard capacity magazines with a capability of holding more than 10 rounds as well as banning many commonly used firearms with fixed, boxed or tubular magazines, including many lever action rifles, is now in the Illinois House. This dangerous legislation will be brought up in an Executive Committee hearing this Wednesday, May 23.

Make no mistake, this is a gun and self-defense ban that will stand no chance of curtailing crime and will only hurt law-abiding sportsmen, hunters and gun owners.

Please contact your representative immediately and urge him or her to oppose SB 1007. We must defeat this bill in the Illinois House, as Gov. Blagojevich will not hesitate to sign it into law the moment it crosses his desk.
